Interview with Aziatix (28 Nov at MBS)

RP had the honour of meeting Aziatix again!

Here’s what transpired.

(View more photos of our good-looking trio here.)

[What is the one thing you look forward to, coming back to Singapore?]
N: Besides the lovely fans, we love the food out here…
[Have you had the opportunity to try any food?]

N: Of course! We had Hainanese Chicken rice and noodles… I forget the name. Rojak! We haven’t tried that yet. I want the guys to try some stingray tonight. Everytime we come out here, first and foremost, the fans. They are all so supportive.

[Where would you like to go in Singapore?]
N: There are so many nice places here. Tomorrow we have a chance to go down to the indoor stadium. If you know any places that you think we should definitely check out, just let us know! We’ve been working so we haven’t had a chance to look around. Do you have any advice?
[For food?]

N: Anywhere! [Tiong Bahru Market…]
N: Do they have Hainan ji fan?
F: Do they have potatoes? E: Flowsik loves potatoes.
[What kind of potato.. French fries?]

[Yesterday you had a gig at St. James. How was it?]
N: We were surprised with how many fans turned up, it was a Sunday night, you know. We didn’t expect so many fans. We had so many more fans coming out compared to last time.

[How long will your stay be in Singapore?]
N: We have the Mnet MAMA ceremony tomorrow, the very next day we’re actually going back out. But we can’t wait to see everybody real soon.

[How was your US tour?]
F: It was great, we visited a lot of cities.. after we performed, it was the next city.  Perform, plane, next city so it was tiring. When you’re tired it makes you work hard. We had a great time having the chance to meet our friends. We had a meet and greet for every show. We wish to keep on reaching out to Asians everywhere.

[Now we have more fun questions! I’m very curious, Eddie will you ever cut your hair?]
E: What..? Will I ever, I cut my hair! Can’t you tell? No, you can’t tell? Well honestly I don’t plan these things, I just do it. I don’t know.. There’s no way the fans will know. I’ll keep you posted. On Facebook.

[Nicky, you’ve been to Singapore many times, is there anything you would like to know more about Singapore?]

N: The people in Singapore have so much love for us and so much support. I would definitely like to spend more time out here, besides work. Because when we’re here, we’re here with a grueling schedule and I don’t get a chance to see too many places. If I had a few more days, I would love to stay around, check out more about the food culture, and even hang out with the fans that are out here. I wish we had more time just to check out the culture. There are so many different cultures here as well; it’s a big melting pot.
E: Even if it’s not this trip, we’ll be back real soon. Hopefully for vacation and just hanging out with everyone.

[For Flowsik: You’ve always been rapping, have you thought about singing a song in the album? Any plans?]
F: Hmmm..yeah! For the group, I bring the hip-hop, I bring the rap flavour to it. So that’s my job but in the near future… I’m writing a lot of songs and melodies. We’ll see what happens. Just stay tuned it will be quite interesting.

[Short trivia questions: Ba Kut Teh, or Teh Ba Kut, is a founder of Singapore. True or false?]
N: Why are you doing this to us? Can you give us a hint?
E: Ba..Kut.. Teh? Ba Kut Teh?
N: (After asking someone) Of course it’s false!
[Why is it false?]
N: I don’t have an answer for you right now but it is false. Next question please!
[It’s actually meat in soup, it’s a Chinese dish..]
(Collective groan.)

[Is it true that Eddie has a gold-capped molar?]
E: A what? False!
N: Is that so?
[We have to check.]
F: Say ‘ah’!

[Does Flowsik have a fetish for dolls?]
N: True!
F: That’s completely false! I mean, I have a fetish for pillows~
